Myanmar: Garment workers at factory supplying GUESS & Moschino report alleged labour rights violations incl. forced overtime & unsafe working conditions for women; incl. co. responses

In March 2022, it was reported that workers at Hesheng Myanmar Leather factory were facing a series of violations in the factory, including harassment of women workers, forced overtime, non-payment of overtime, wage deductions, poor food quality, and arbitrary arrests in collaboration with the military.

It was also reported that a worker who was hit by a motorcycle and required medical leave was fined 50,000 kyats per day of leave.

In addition, a worker had allegedly been raped on her way home from work, which workers alleged was due to workers being forced to work late at night, while the factory.

In June 2022 we invited GUESS and Moschino to respond. GUESS did not respond. The full responses are included below.
