Sri Lanka: Brandix Essentials shuts down after workers demand full bonuses, reporting falling orders; incl. co .responses

In December 2022, it was reported that Brandix Essentials had told workers that the factory shut down for 17 days because the company was facing difficult times and orders were down, reporting that orders had fallen by 40%. In December, the factory had sent a notice to workers that the factory would be closed, after workers demanded a full one-month bonus, as the company had announced the workers would only receive a half-month bonus. The factory reopened after a week following negotiations.

In March 2024, Business & Human Rights Resource Centre invited Amazon, Fast Retailing, Nike and PVH to respond. The responses can be found below.
