Brazil: Biofuel & sugar companies accused of buying sugar from ranchers who violently evict indigenous groups; companies respond
Business and Human Rights Resource Centre invited Alcoolvale/Unialco, Biosev, Bunge and Cargill to respond to allegations of human rights abuses in indigenous lands in Brazil, and claims that these companies buy sugarcane from such lands. Biosev, Bunge and Cargill responded (see below). Subsequently, we were informed that Survival International had not stated that these companies are buying sugarcane from Guarani land; the information was solely taken from the Grist article.
