India: Leopard attacks affect tea workers in Assam

In April 2023, it was reported that a tea plucker had sustained injuries after being attacked by a leopard at Tamulbari Tea Estate. In June, a worker at an unnamed estate in Golaghat was also attacked. The Business and Human Rights Resource Centre invited Unilever - a buyer from the estate according to its publicly disclosed supplier list - and Lipton Teas and Infusions (formerly ekaterra) - which bought most of Unilever's tea business in 2022 - to respond. Lipton responded that it does not source from Tamulbari. Full responses are included below.
