Action taken: Bamandanga Tondu recently supplied tea to Unilever, according to a supplier list publicly disclosed by Unilever. Unilever provided a response to a request for comment from the Resource Centre. Lipton Teas and Infusions, which took over most of Unilever’s tea business in 2022, was also asked for a response. Lipton said it does not source tea from the estate.

"Leopard injures two tea garden youths", April 6 2023
A leopard on Wednesday morning attacked two youths of a tea estate in Jalpaiguri when they were warding off buffaloes from the tea plantations.
Sources said that Sanju Goala and Sudhir Bhunia, residents of the Bamandanga-Tondu tea estate in Nagrakata block of the district, reached a plantation in the morning to drive away some buffaloes.
Suddenly, a leopard pounced on them from a bush and attacked them.
As the duo put up a fight and screamed for help, the animal fled the spot.
Residents took the injured and bleeding youths to the block health centre in Sulkapara for treatment.
Residents have demanded that the foresters on a priority basis lay a trap and cage the leopard that they suspect is still roaming in the tea garden.
