Maersk's response to allegations over shipment of weapons used in Israel's war on Gaza & to the UN Experts' call to cease arms transfers to Israel

Maersk response to the Business & Human Rights Resource Centre, 10 July 2024:

"We want to reiterate that throughout our operations, Maersk is committed to responsible business practices and to respecting human rights in line with international standards. This also includes carrying out human rights due diligence when operating in conflict-affected areas and applying standards and principles to ensure that we do not carry out any shipments of weapons or ammunition to countries or areas currently involved in armed conflicts, or that is subject to an arms embargo.

With regard to Gaza/Palestine, we also strongly reiterate that we do not support the violence taking place there and are horrified by the humanitarian catastrophes in this conflict."
