Myanmar: Garment worker miscarriages in factory after being denied permission to go to the hospital; incl. co. responses

In October 2023, it was reported that a pregnant worker was stopped from going to the hospital when she started feeling contractions, and had a miscarriage in the factory. She was given two months maternity leave and was instructed to return 21 November.

It was also reported that workers at Myanmar Yangon Richang Apparel were having to work overtime overnight, with 5 workers being robbed while returning home at night. A woman worker was stabbed and robbed when returning home from work at 5am.

In January 2024, the Business & Human Rights Resource Centre invited Pal Group (for Ciaopanic Typy brand), Baroque (for Azul by Moussy, Rodeo Crowns Wide Bowl), Right On, Hang Ten and FieldCore to respond. Pal Group responded. Baroque, Right On, Hang Ten and FieldCore did not. The response can be found below.
