Myanmar: Workers at shoe factory report violations incl. unsanitary dining conditions, mandatory overtime & wage theft; incl. co. response

In May 2024, it was reported that workers at Vicsong shoe factory are facing a series of violations, including inadequate dining rooms for all the workers, resulting in workers eating together with goats in the factory, workers struggling to work in the heat, workers only receiving 40% of their salary when the factory is closed, during factory closures workers are fired without compensation, including those who have worked 3 months or 6 months, mandatory and unpaid overtime, workers fainting because they're forced to go to work early without eating, verbal abuse, no medicine or access to the clinic, workers threatened with dismissal if they don't work overtime and denial of leave.

In September 2024, Business & Human Rights Resource Centre invited s.Oliver to respond. It did not.
