TikTok's response

21 February 2022

The promotion of hate and violence has absolutely no place on TikTok. In the first half of 2021, we removed 879,650 videos in Myanmar for violating our Community Guidelines or Terms of Service. Of those videos, we proactively identified and removed 97.9% before any reports from our community, and 93.9% were removed within 24 hours of being posted.

As well as enforcing our Community Guidelines, we have expanded our safety resources for Myanmar, including establishing fact checking partnerships and rolling out well-being and community safety campaigns such as Let's keep TikTok safe and mental health resources developed with local creators. We are deeply committed to the well-being of our community, and will continue to make significant investments to keep TikTok a safe platform in Myanmar."
