Company Response

24 Oct 2023

X Corp did not respond to allegations of contributing to hate speech & incitement of violence against Palestinians

On 18 October 2023, the Business & Human Rights Resource Centre invited X Corp to respond to the allegations regarding a significant increase in the instances of hate speech and inciteful content in Hebrew language on the company's social media platform X. The allegations also concerned several cases of account restrictions on Palestinian activists and supporters on X, as well as claims that X's content moderation practices demonstrate a bias against Palestinian content on the company's platform.

Additionally, on 20 October, the Business & Human Rights Resource Centre expanded its invitation to X Corp to include the allegations of allowing the spread of harmful content without sufficient moderation and that most instances of hate speech and/or incitement in Hebrew, documented since the Israel-Hamas escalation, were found on its platform. X Corp did not respond.
