Myanmar: Supervisor at garment factory allegedly dismissed after requesting reduction in production targets; incl. co. responses
In February 2023, it was reported that workers at GYSEN (Myanmar) Apparel Co. Ltd were facing a series of violations at the factory including excessive production targets, mandatory overtime if workers did not meet their targets, verbal abuse, unclean drinking water, and violations against the trade union.
Furthermore, on 31 January 2023, a supervisor was allegedly fired after requesting a reduction in worker’s production targets.
In February 2023, Business & Human Rights Resource Centre invited Pep&Co and Dunnes Stores to respond. Pep&Co responded. Dunnes Stores did not. The full response from Pep&Co can be found below.
