British American Tobacco's statement

In 2021, we made the decision to withdraw from Myanmar. On 6 October 2021 we ceased operations within the market and wound down our business. Throughout this process our priority was to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our employees. This included enhanced redundancy packages, job placement and career advice as well as mental health and wellbeing counselling for a period of 12 months.

On 22 June 2022 BAT’s subsidiary in Myanmar formally entered into liquidation and we no longer have an operational presence in the country.
