"Dividiendo por Colombia"
[Original website in Spanish. Following summary of the website's key points provided by Business & Human Rights Resource Centre.] Dividiendo por Colombia is a foundation created by a group of business people to put into practice their commitment to social responsibility, by supporting education projects for the poor. Dividiendo gathers financial contributions from over 7500 employees, who individually decide how much they want to contribute, and from over 70 companies, which usually contribute an amount matching the employee contributions. There is an underlying belief that quality education is the best way to help the poor, create opportunities for a decent standard of living, and to make the country more competitive. During 2005 Dividiendo supported programs involving poor boys and girls in Bogotá, Cali, and Medellín.
