JAKO's response to allegations of abuses in Myanmar garment factories

JAKO was informed of the allegations at Sun Apparel Myanmar through BSCI on May 6th. Consequently, JAKO had several meetings with amfori and other current and former customers during which we agreed to initiate a fully unannounced BSCI audit. The audit was conducted on June 6th through TUEV Rhineland Myanmar.

None of the allegations specified at social media and Myanmar press were detected during this audit. However, several other areas of improvement were noted. Sun Apparel is currently working on a corrective plan to improve those topics. JAKO is in intensive dialogue with the supplier and will monitor the improvements closely.
