[Unofficial description by Business & Human Rights Resource Centre]

A ruling acknowledged that the cerebral hemorrhage and permanent injuries suffered by a former branch manager of Books Kinokuniya in 2019 were related to his working environment.

The Osaka District Court ruled that long working hours were the cause and ordered the company to pay approximately 56 million yen.
