KiK's response to allegations of abuses in Myanmar garment factories - February update

[...]

Usually incidents like this are alerted to us by our network on the ground before media covers it. We immediately run thorough investigations, organise an Audit at the respective factory in order to check and remedy given allegations.

This case however has never been reported to us. As per our investigations referring to Nanstock Garment factory mentioned in this case we have to inform you that the factory with this name is not known to us. We also asked local Stakeholders, such as SMART and Eurocham Myanmar (The European Chamber of Commerce in Myanmar) and the factory name appears not to be known to them either. Without more detailed information (at least, address), it is not possible for us to run a risk analysis. From our side, there are no signs of illegal sub-contracting.
