Myanmar: Factory refuses workers' demand for wage hike in response to price of goods; workers also allege pay discrimination; incl. co. responses
In October 2024, it was reported that workers at Myanmar York demand a wage hike in response to the price of goods, and reported that other factories paid higher wages, but the factory officials refused. The workers reported that those workers that are close to the supervisors are given a raise and paid leave. Workers who are not close to the supervisors don’t get a pay rise, they are made to take unpaid leave, and also lose their seniority pay.
