Myanmar: Garment workers at Sunrise Myanmar allegedly forced to sleep overnight at the factory to complete targets incl. co. responses

In January 2023, it was reported that workers at Sunrise Myanmar were facing a series of violations including mandatory overtime, workers facing wage cuts and demotion if they take days off, demotion if workers refuse overtime, excessive production targets, workers forced to sleep at the factory overnight due to overnight shifts which impacts their health, no emergency exits or clean drinking water, verbal abuse and no medical provisions available for workers.

In February 2023, Business & Human Rights Resource Centre invited Topvalu, Shimamura, Honeys and United Athle to respond. Responses can be found below.
