On 14 June 2022, a TV crew of four journalists from the Bulgarian National Television (BNT) and environmental activists Dimitar Kumanov, Dr. Valentin Janev, Branko Mitov and Dimitar Dimitrov were attacked while reporting on environmental pollution at a border mine, Bosil Metal, owned by Ciklomen. The team of the investigative programme "Traces Remain" including journalist Bogdana Lazarova, cameramen Dimitar Slavov and Nikolai Andreev and technician Robert Vetsov, were driving towards the mine entrance accompanied by the activists when they were stopped by a van parked across the road. When the journalists and activists exited the vehicle and began walking the mine's director and several employees and security workers reportedly started throwing rocks at them and yelled, "Get out, we will kill you."

The journalists have filed a complaint and an investigation has been opened. As of 14 February 2023, the investigation is still ongoing. The journalists were not injured and their equipment was slightly damaged. The Resource Centre invited Ciklomen to respond to the allegations; it did not.
