Respecting migrant rights in renewable energy projects: Baseline assessment

The Business & Human Rights Resource Centre's "Rush to renewables" briefing analyses the risks migrant workers face in the renewable energy industry across the GCC. The briefing includes a baseline assessment of key energy developer and construction contractor's commitments to respecting labour and migrant worker rights in a just transition.
Methodology
The analysis assessed the publicly available policies and disclosure of 27 renewable energy developers and construction/ engineering contractors identified through the Resource Centre’s Gulf renewables explorer against five themes representing fundamental human rights principles relating to migrant workers. Analysis took place during August and September 2024; disclosure published after this time was not credited in the analysis. The themes and indicators are linked below, alongside each company's scorecard and any additional company disclosures.
