Purchasing Practices: Who Pays For The Crisis?

Tracking allegations at factories across apparel-producing countries where brand purchasing practices have been reported to have had a negative impact on workers.

Since 2022, the Resource Centre has monitored an uptick in coverage of factories and subsequently workers being negatively impacted by changes in brand purchasing practices.

The Who Pays For The Crisis? Allegations Tracker records cases at factories across apparel-producing countries, where brand purchasing practices have been reported to have had a negative impact on workers. This includes: factory closures, mass layoffs, reduced working hours and reduced wages. The Tracker also monitors brand reaction; including responses from Resource Centre engagement on specific allegations and rapid response surveys when supply chain shocks emerge.
