Brazil: Cargill and Bunge allegedly sourcing soy exported worldwide from Indigenous land where Guarani Kaiowá rights are violated
Following its report "There Will be Blood", which went through the supply chains connecting the soybean produced at a farm linked to rights violations of Guarani Kaiowá indigenous communities to the main European markets, the British NGO Earthsight, partnered with the Brazilian observatory De Olho Nos Ruralistas, has launched a new report. Now, the NGO states its investigations revealed Cargill and Bunge, the world’s two largest traders of Brazilian soy, are connected to the same abuses.
The NGO called on the companies to "take firmer stance on Indigenous rights rather than passing off responsibility to intermediaries or deferring to legal loopholes".
