In July 2021, NGOs including Rainforest Action Network (RAN), Tropical Forest Action Network (JATAN), and Indonesia “ Rousel Ecosystem” Tropical Forest submitted a complaint to the Tokyo 2020 Organising Committee, alleging Meiji Corporation's "Chocolate Snack" has violated the Tokyo Olympics "Sustainable Sourcing Code" and "Sourcing Code for the Promotion of Sustainable Palm Oil." The Tokyo 2020 officially licensed product was accused of failing to meet standards for legal compliance, environmental conservation, and respect for the rights of indigenous peoples and others.

The list of oil mills of 25 March 2020 and grievance list of 15 July 2020 both published by Fuji Oil include oil mills and plantations that have been allegedly linked to "problematic" practices.
