In July 2024, it was reported that workers at Myanmar Huasheng Golden Garment factory are facing a series of violations, including workers to forced to work all night every day for June, with officials forcing workers to sleep in the dark in the factory. Workers had to take the ferry back home at 5am. Workers are not given any breaks, and are unable to eat, and report that the excessive working hours cause them to feel dizzy. If workers take time off work, their salary is reduced. Despite the factory being inspected by the Township Labour Office, workers were not able to speak freely, and were told what to say. The workers also report that the factory knew in advance that the labour office was coming to inspect the factory.
