"Teck strongly believes that transparency in payments to governments is essential to strengthen public and corporate governance and ensure greater transparency and accountability in the extractives sector. As a company headquartered in Canada we report in accordance with the Extractive Sector Transparency Measures Act (ESTMA), wherein we annually disclose our payments to all foreign and domestic government entities. These disclosure requirements exceed those required by EITI supporting companies.

Teck also publishes our accompanying Economic Contributions Report to further articulate what payments are made per ESTMA filings, including examples of projects that are associated with these payments and to further contextual information on our contribution to the economy in areas where we operate. In addition, we report in alignment with GRI Tax standard 207, in which we articulate our approach to risk management related to tax payments.

We believe our practices in reporting are at the forefront of transparency in the extractives industry.
