Russia: SLB allegedly expands business by signing new contracts with partners & recruiting hundreds of staff; incl. co. non-response

An investigation by Global Witness and the Financial Times (FT) revealed that SLB (formerly Schlumberger) signed new contracts with business partners in Russia and posted more than 1,000 job advertisements in the country. The authors of the investigation also found that SLB registered two new trademarks in Russia in 2024.

Despite SLB's claims to halt shipments of products and technology to Russia, customs filings showed that the company continued to import $17.5 million worth of equipment between August and December 2023.

Business & Human Rights Resource Centre invited SLB to respond, but the company did not.
