UK: DHL workers supplying Jaguar Land Rover vote in favour of strike action over pay dispute

"DHL issues statement as workers at JLR plants vote in favour of strike action", 15 November 2021

...DHL has issued a statement after its workers at Jaguar Land Rover plants gave "strong backing" for industrial action...

It comes as JLR also issued a response to the potential action which could cause December chaos.

Unite national officer for road transport and logistics Matt Draper said: “We are holding further talks...with DHL management over the pay issues relating to the DHL logistics workforce, who sort and deliver components at Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) sites across the UK...

“Our members have had no pay rise since 2018 and are rightly furious, given the current rate of RPI inflation is running at 4.9 per cent..."...

A spokesperson for Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) said: "We are disappointed that our supplier partner DHL’s Unite union members have voted in favour of industrial action and we urge both DHL and their Unite union members to continue talking to reach an agreeable outcome."

DHL Supply Chain added: "Following constructive talks with Unite and ACAS in the past week, we are disappointed that the union and its members have voted in favour of industrial action.

"We look forward to further talks to reach a satisfactory outcome for all parties, but contingency plans are being drawn up to minimise disruption should the action go ahead.”
