We invited Vedanta Resources to respond to the allegations of restricting the access to company consultations and the oppression of villagers by company-sponsored agents. The company responded in December 2023, as well as in November 2024 in relation to a briefing on community engagement developed by the Resource Centre.

In its first iteration Vedanta asserted: "We strongly reject the ill-informed aspersions cast on the company in the said article. Vedanta conducts its operations in strict adherence to the highest standards of governance and provisions of law. We will continue to focus on the welfare of the community notwithstanding malafide statements of vested interest groups."
