Cambodia: Worker Rights Consortium demands ASICS and MUJI to require their supplier to compensate union leader who was wrongly accused

Wing Star Shoes in Cambodia, which supplies the Japanese brands, ASICS and MUJI reportedly had its union leader, Chea Chan, jailed for more than 180 days. Worker Rights Consortium (WRC) stated that Mr. Chan has not given him back his job as a mechanic even after a month since the court officially acquitted him.

WRC urge ASICS and MUJI to act to require Wing Star Shoes to reinstate Mr. Chan to his original position without loss of seniority and to compensate him for loss of income and other harm from the false imprisonment he endured.

The Business & Human Rights Resource Centre received a statement from ASICS. MUJI (Ryohin Keikaku) responded to our invitation.
