Chinese cos. become leading supplier of CNC machinery for Russian defence sector, according to new report; incl. co. response & non-responses
A report by the Economic Security Council of Ukraine (ESCU) revealed that Chinese companies became leading suppliers of foreign-made CNC machinery to Russia.
The authors of the report highlight that, despite sanctions, China accounted for 80-90% of Russia’s machine tool imports in 2023 and 2024.
The report urges Western governments to tighten sanctions, monitor exports, and prevent Chinese manufacturers from supporting Russia's war machine. It also recommends that the sanctions coalition create new legal frameworks and strategic measures to close existing gaps in sanctions and disrupt Russia’s military supply chains.
Business & Human Rights Resource Centre invited to respond 26 companies out of 36 listed in the report as the biggest Chinese suppliers of CNC machinery to Russia. Contact information for the remaining 10 companies couldn't be found.
Only Huizhou Oleading Technology Co. LTD did. All responses and non-responses can be found below.
