Ecuador: Expert's assessment concludes that SolGold's proposed Cascabel mine will most likely cause untold environmental harm

Rainforest Information Centre commissioned mining expert Steven H Emerman to assess the impacts of SolGold's proposed Cascabel mine.

Emerman has concluded that the mine will probably have several environmental, social and financial negative impacts. Therefore, the expert recommends that the SolGold should abandon the project and that investors should decline to invest in it and that regulatory agencies should not approve the mine.

We invited SolGold to comment on the allegations, but the company did not respond.
