Nokia's response
14 January 2021
In response to the matters raised in your report, Nokia has no business dealings with Mytel – either directly, or indirectly via Viettel or any other third party. Thus, it is unsurprising that Justice For Myanmar has not seen evidence of Nokia technology use.
Given these facts and the absence of evidence, we are surprised to be cited in the report.
Nokia is committed to respect and support Human Rights based on the principles and values laid out in the International Bill of Human Rights, the International Labor Organization’s Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work and the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. These principles and values are embedded in our Code of Conduct which every employee is required to acknowledge and adhere to. We also expect our suppliers and business partners to share these values to ensure that communications technology and our business respect and support human rights.
