Procter & Gamble's response

9 December 2020

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to respond to the Associated Press report published 24th November 2020.

We were deeply saddened and concerned to read the allegations raised in this article. At P&G we believe that the mistreatment of women, indeed of any employee, has no place in the modern workplace. Companies need to foster a culture that is inclusive with equal treatment for all their employees. Work should be a place where everyone feels they are safe and where they can contribute, achieve their potential and be fairly rewarded for their efforts. This belief lies at the heart of how P&G operates our business.

Respect for human rights is a core part of P&G's Principles, Values and Purpose. We follow the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human rights. We expect our business partners to do the same and to fully comply with our External Business Partners Responsible Sourcing Guidelines. We take this approach seriously, where concerns are brought to us, we will investigate and assess the situation by engaging directly with our business partners. If we identify concerns, we will work with them to drive change, using our resources and expertise, to seek a better solution for those people most directly impacted.
