On 2 July 2015, Studiosus sent a follow-up response to the report "Dark Clouds Over the Sunshine Paradise" (its initial response is here). 

Follow-up response:

"The Maalu Maalu Resort & Spa and the Amethyst Resort Passikudah were both named in connection with human rights violations in a report published by the Society for Threatened Peoples entitled “Shadows in Paradise - Tourism &  Human Rights in Sri Lanka”. Studiosus followed up the allegations and has decided to remove both hotels from the current programme. Neither hotel will feature in a Studiosus or Marco Polo tour until further notice. Nor do we include in our programme any other hotels mentioned in the study. Furthermore, Studiosus is actively working to improve the situation long-term and striving for a sensible, participatory solution.”
