WeBuild responds to article analysing alleged controversies related to 38 hydropower projects

On 3 December, an article entitled "Counter-reporting sustainability from the bottom up: the case of the construction company WeBuild and dam-related conflicts" was published in the Journal of Business Ethics. The article includes an analysis of alleged controversies related to 38 hydropower projects attributed to Webuild, comparing reported evidence from NGOs, journalists, scholars and community leaders with information the company provides through its CSR reports. According to the authors there is a discrepancy and mismatch between the reports.

Business & Human Rights Resource Centre invited WeBuild to respond to the article; the company's response is included below.

In January 2022, the authors responded to WeBuild's comments (available below). BHRRC invited WeBuild to comment, the company declined to comment further.
