Woman who lost both hands working at Mexican factory supplying LG Electronics receives just $14,400 in compensation - company responds

In February 2011 Rosa Moreno lost both of her hands in a workplace accident at a factory supplying LG Electronics.  She was initially offered just 50,000 pesos ($3,800) by the factory she worked for. She eventually managed to secure $14,400 in settlement money under Mexican labour law.  She then managed to file a case against LG Electronics (part of LG Corp.) but this was later dismissed.  

Rosa Moreno explains in the Guardian article below how she and her 6 children at home are surviving on a small disability benefit from the Mexican Govt. and the kindness of friends.
