Indonesia: Over 3,000 garment workers laid off as factory ceases operations, after brands reduce orders; incl. co. responses

In May 2023, it was reported that PT Dean Shoes ceased operations and closed on 14 April 2023, laying off over 3,000 workers. Brands had reportedly been reducing orders since 2022, leading to the company initially implementing a four-day work week.

In March 2024, Business & Human Rights Resource Centre invited Nike and Under Armour to respond. The responses can be found below.
