Myanmar: Pregnant workers face discrimination at H&M factory incl. denial of maternal benefits & dismissal after birth; incl. co. response

In August 2022, it was reported that workers at Myanmar Jiale Fashion Garment factory were facing a series of violations at the factory, including mandatory and unpaid overtime if workers do not meet high targets, day labourers hired on a weekly and monthly basis, verbal abuse, child labour, and pregnant workers denied maternity benefits and dismissed after birth.

In September 2022, Business & Human Rights Resource Centre invited H&M to respond, and in February 2023, Business & Human Rights Resource Centre invited Inditex to respond. The full response is included below.
