...The importance of sustainability in corporate activities has increased in recent years, and there is a growing demand for sustainability disclosure around the world. In response to these trends, discussions on standards for corporate sustainability information disclosure have become more active, and with the expansion of ESG investments, etc., information disclosure from an investor perspective has been strengthened in integrated reports and sustainability reports. On the other hand, there seems to be a trend of decreasing information, dialogue, and engagement aimed at civil society.

Therefore, the CSO Network investigated the current status of corporate sustainability disclosure and engagement, and considered ways to promote information disclosure and engagement with civil society. As a recent trend, some companies have begun publishing dedicated “human rights reports” in addition to the reports mentioned above. Therefore, we also included an analysis of these human rights reports in our investigation.
