Paz Aviation nonresponse to fuel supply for violent conflict following ICJ ruling

According to a report published by SOMO, Paz Aviation Services, a wholly owned subsidiary of Paz Oil, has allegedly been "contracted by the Israeli Ministry of Defense since 2016" to refuel Israeli military aircraft at seven Air Force bases, with the contract extended until December 31, 2026. Given that "more than half of Ashdod Refinery Limited’s sales" of jet fuel are to Paz Oil, there is a "clear connection" between Paz Aviation’s activities and the military aggression. Further, this connection is concerning, as the refueling of Israeli military aircraft "directly supports military actions" that have been widely reported as war crimes under international law. This involvement comes under scrutiny following recent International Court of Justice rulings that condemn Israel's actions in the Occupied Palestinian Territories. Your company’s continued transport of Jet fuel as recently as “August 2024”, which is critical to Israel's current military operations, raises concerns of your company’s purported complicity in contributing to severe human rights abuses.

We requested Paz Aviation to respond to the following questions regarding its purported involvement in the supply of oil to Israel.

  1. Has your company been retained by Israel or any associated entities to transport military jet fuel since the conflict began?
  2. In light of the International Court of Justice's recent opinions on the situation in Palestinian territories, how does your company ensure compliance with international obligations and Business and Human Rights principles?

Paz Aviation did not respond.
