A recent media report published by The Global Energy Embargo for Palestine alleges that the Richard Bay Coal Terminal is involved in the systematic transfer of coal from South Africa to Israel. The letter further alleged that as part of the systematic and repeated supply of coal, most recently, two vessels—Algoma Value (Self-Discharging Bulk Carrier, IMO 7926148) and Schinousa (Bulk Carrier, IMO 9662409) — departed the Richard Bay Coal Terminal last month and they are currently en route to Israel with South African coal. The Business and Human Rights Resource Centre wrote to Richards Bay Coal Terminal asking it to respond to this allegations, Richard Bay Coal Terminal did not respond.
