CONERSA response
In repose to the report…regarding the development of the small, multipurpose, hydroelectric/drinking water project “Rio Cuyamel II” and its permits, studies, contracts and environmental license; we would like to communicate our points of view so that the truth is known based on facts and legal and scientific considerations…In this sense, the multipurpose hydroelectric project was designed to generate on-of-the-river hydro electricity and its construction and operation consider, as a priority, water supply of drinking water for communities in the region. The project does not include any type of dam or reservoir, which guarantees the constant flow of the ecologic flux…The records contain administrative procedures for the project Cuyamel II, the environment permit, water contract, operation contract and the project has not violated human rights of the people and communities -such as water, access to information, health and environment- as shown in these files. I will like to say that the complainants and the San Francisco Minucipality have been involved in the project management from the beginning and that they have all the necessary information regarding the management and the development of the project…
