Ethiopia: German software companies accused of facilitating mass surveillance of journalists, activists & citizens
German companies Trovicor, Gamma & Elaman are alleged to have provided Ethiopian intelligence services with surveillance equipment. According to Privacy International the Ethiopian intelligence agency "has used intercepted communications data to identify and punish targets it perceives as opposed to the government. Journalists, activists and average citizens widely assume that their communications are extensively monitored."
