The 2020 FIFA Club World Cup was held in Qatar between 1 and 11 February 2021, prompting renewed criticism of FC Bayern Munich's dealings with Qatar. Concerns around the club's ties to and working conditions for migrant workers in the Gulf state have previously been raised, including via a letter from human rights NGO Fair Square Projects in February 2020 calling on the club to support a call for investigations into migrant worker deaths, to which FC Bayern München allegedly has not yet responded.
