India: Tea workers fear for safety amid elephant attacks which destroyed housing; incl. co. responses

In June 2022, it was reported that an elephant damaged the houses of two workers at the Baradighi tea garden in West Bengal, India and consumed all the food items. Prior to this incident the houses of six workers of the garden were also demolished by elephants. Following this incident, the residents of the garden protested, demanding safety.

In December 2022, Business & Human Rights Resource Centre invited Unilever and Tetley to respond. The full responses can be found below.
