"Protest against privatization of Rajabari Tea Estate in Demow"

A two-hour sit-in was held in front of the office of Rajabari Tea Estate on Tuesday morning in protest against the privatization of Rajabari Tea Estate. The protest was held by the labourers under the patronage of All Tea Tribes Students' Association (ATTSA), Demow branch, in association with ATTSA Rajabari sub-branch, ATTWA, Rajabari sub-branch. They alleged that the tea labourers have not got their salary.

The ATTSA and ATTWA activists protested with placards and demanded to solve their problems. Later Phyllis Hrangchal, Demow Circle Officer reached the protest spot and then the ATTSA, Demow Branch submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister through Demow Circle Officer on Tuesday. In the memorandum ATTSA, Demow Branch stated their various demands. They demanded appointment in the various vacant posts in the tea estates, repair of the houses of the tea labourers. In the protest programme Bichitra Tanti, president, Biswanath Nag, secretary of ATTSA, Demow Branch along with other ATTSA, ATTWA leaders were present.
