Meta responds to allegations of contributing to the suppression of Palestinian voices during times of crisis

Meta response to the Business & Human Rights Resource Centre, 20 October 2023:

Meta recently published a detailed Newsroom post setting out specific steps we’ve taken related to the current conflict. It’s available in English, Arabic, and Hebrew.

The post will be updated on a regular basis as events unfold, and as Meta adopts additional measures. At the time of writing, the most recent update was made October 18, 2023.

We also note that Meta commissioned independent human rights due diligence on Israel Palestine in 2021, and we published the report and a Meta response in September 2022.

In addition, last month we provided a detailed update on our response to due diligence recommendations, shared as an annex to our 2022 Human Rights Report.
