..I have been working at YFA garment factory in Thardu Khan Industrial Zone in Shwe Pyi Thar Township for over 4 months…there are about 150/200 workers in our factory. Our factory takes ‘orders via a factory in Mangaladon Township…There are a lot of law violations at our factory. The workers have to work overtime for not meeting the standard targets. But the factory management doesn’t give [overtime] fees...the factory has no official permission from the government to operate. The HR department asked me to sign on 7 November as I was still pregnant. The HR told me to leave the job at the end of November. But according to the law, they have no right to fire me…J shall not get any [maternity benefits] as my service has not completed 6 months yet. But I shall get the right to take leave…I was aware that I’m pregnant when I had already worked for 4 months. My birth [was] only 2 months [away]. So they can’t dismiss me by breaching the law. But I have been fired along with the labour dispute that broke out on 29 November…
