Myanmar: Women workers reportedly suffering miscarriage in garment factory; incl. co. responses

In July 2024, it was reported that workers at Tristate Myanmar Garment are facing a series of violations, including workers forced to work on public holidays and weekends, workers forced to sign an agreement that they are willing to work Martyrs' Day to be given to the labour office, workers denied sick leave and facing cuts to their wages and benefits if they take leave, mandatory overtime everyday incl. Sundays without a day off, causing health problems incl. miscarriages, workers who request leave for health issues denied, and humiliation from supervisors.

It was also reported that a worker who had a miscarriage was denied medical leave and had to leave the job.

In December 2024, Business & Human Rights Resource Centre invited CP Company, Max Mara, Nautica, New Look and OTTO to respond. CP Company, New Look and Otto Group responded. Max Mara and Nautica did not. The full response can be found below.
