Nigeria: President Buhari blames MTN for Boko Haram attacks, says unregistered sim cards were used to plan attacks
Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari recently put some of the blame for Boko Haram attacks on mobile company, MTN. Addressing a joint press conference with South African President, Jacob Zuma, who was visiting Nigeria, Buhari said MTN's slow response to disconnect unregistered users in Nigeria had directly contributed to Boko Haram's success in killing thousands of innocent civilians. MTN was last year fined millions of US dollars by the Nigerian government over the non-registered sim cards.
